The Miracle of Every Breath

A Reflection on Everyday Miracles

Reflections Reflections 1 February 2025

In the beginning, God had a direct relationship with humans, walking alongside them regularly. However, humanity was not satisfied and aspired to be like gods. As a result, the original privileges were taken away.

God then chose to communicate with people through elders, prophets, dreams, signs, and miracles. This continued until humanity made the decision to crucify God. We essentially killed God.

Since that time, He no longer communicates with us in the same way. Expecting miracles to occur as they did over two thousand years ago is unlikely.

Does that mean miracles do not happen? No, I am not saying that. Miracles still occur, but not in the same explicit manner as before. God continues to communicate with us, albeit differently. He speaks through His still, small voice. We must be attentive to recognise miracles and acknowledge them. They happen every day, with each breath we take. The very act of breathing is, in itself, a miracle.
