Our walk with Jesus Christ is, at its heart, a covenant — a sacred agreement built on mutual commitment. As Scripture tells us: "And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed" (Deuteronomy 31:8). This divine assurance speaks to Jesus' constant presence, and to His unwavering faithfulness; He actively pursues us, remains ever mindful of our needs, and leads the way before us. Yet, as we are reminded, "In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths" (Proverbs 3:6), we too are called to acknowledge Him in all our ways — actively mirroring His love and truth in our every thought, word, and deed.
Throughout Biblical history, we see a consistent pattern: God's part of any covenant is always perfectly fulfilled. He never falters in His promises. The human element, however, often struggles with the reciprocal obligation. We are called to a deep and personal relationship, one in which we continually strive to follow Jesus, honouring our side of this divine compact. This requires a conscious and consistent effort to live a life that reflects His teaching and His sacrifice, so that our response may be as steadfast as His initiation.
